All of our tumbler sublimation transfers are offered in the following sizes:
20 oz Straight Tumbler: 9.5"x8.25"
30 oz Straight Tumbler: 10.25"x10"
***Please ensure your tumbler is straight, and not tapered. These transfers will not work on a tapered tumbler.
Sublimation ink, when heated, turns into a gas that actually embeds itself into anything with a polyester coating. This creates a cleaner, more professional look while allowing for a much more detailed image than most other embellishing methods can offer. Shading, gradients and a rainbow of colors are huge benefits to using sublimation transfers. There is no difference in feeling between the image and the tumbler. These sublimation transfers must be applied to a tumbler that is made for sublimation meaning it is coated with polyester.
Sublimation printing, also referred to as dye sublimation printing, is a printing method for transferring images onto a substrate (usually a cloth material such as polyester). Sublimation refers to a process where a substance moves from a solid to a gas state without ever being in a liquid state. Sublimation printing normally involves the use of a digital printer to produce mirrored images on paper that has been specially coated with a transfer material.
Heating Process/Instructions
If using a convection oven, general instructions are:
- 385°-400° degrees Fahrenheit
- 6 minutes
- Turn halfway at 3 minute mark
If using a mug/cup press, general instructions are:
- 385°-400° degrees Fahrenheit
- 4 minutes
***These are general starting point instructions. Minor changes may need to be made to time or temperature depending on your own machinery.
Ink Transfer and Bonding
When the heat is removed from the transfer paper and substrate, the ink that has permeated the substrate fibers solidifies and is locked permanently into place by the transfer material. Assuming the procedure has been performed correctly, the image should never be subject to deterioration beyond that of the substrate itself.

Materials and User Error
Not all sublimation tumblers are made equally, just as not all sublimation paper and inks are made equally. CSDS Vinyl uses the highest quality paper and inks on the market. We are continuously testing our materials to ensure the best outcome for our customers. When choosing sublimation tumblers, keep in mind that different brands can press differently and may require slight adjustments to time and temperature to ensure a desired finished product.
The actual transfer will arrive faded or the colors may look off. This is because the inks are heat activated and will only show their true colors when applied with heat.
Color Disclaimer. Actual colors may vary. This is due to computer monitors displaying colors differently and everyone can see these colors differently. We try extremely hard to ensure our photos are as life-like as possible, but please understand the actual color may vary slightly from your monitor.
